SVP uses a single session cookie to keep signing in secure and to keep you signed in, plus (if you change the theme) a cookie that remembers your light or dark preference. There are no tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to accept or opt out of.

What we record, and why

When you request or use a sign-in link, SVP records your IP address and browser as part of its security log; this helps keep your account safe (for example, by slowing down repeated failed sign-in attempts). SVP also keeps an audit log of significant actions, so there is a reliable record of who did what and when. Every part of each page is served from this system, so nothing is sent to third parties.

How long we keep it

Each kind of data is kept only as long as it's needed and then automatically deleted, following retention periods the College sets. Once you're signed in, this notice shows the exact period for each kind of data.
